“Good [morning, afternoon, evening], I’m so glad you are here.”
I am Kaitlyn, an Undergraduate and Graduate alumni of the University of Florida; Go Gators. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife, Nurse Practitioner.
I started these blogs one morning after reading the blog of a friend while trying to find anything else to do but study. My initial motivation to blog was scarcely related to being an advice column, but when I started to learn more and more in advanced practice nursing and women’s health, I came across many topics that contradicted many typical healthcare beliefs, particularly in the setting of women’s health and childbirth. The more I have learned, the more I’ve wanted to correct such aforementioned misconceptions, and thus, here we are today. Some of my blogs are excerpts from actual academic papers I have written through my nursing and midwifery training (Lost Thoughts), some are literature-referenced, strongly biased rants from yours truly (Girl Stuff Catagory), and some are random, irrelevant, personal anecdotes (Personal Touch) that for one reason or another I have decided to share with the world.
Take caution while reading, while all of my informative pieces are referenced with scholarly research, all info is casually presented, and should not be perceived as professional advice, but rather just a simple train of thought. I hope you enjoy my blogs, maybe you just might learn something. =)
